TWIN  CHANNAL

SRI SHYAM ENGINEERING presents premium TMT Twin Channel Manufacturer in India, strategically placed on the entry side of the cooling bed to enhance safety during bar transfer. This mechanism securely conveys the bar within a closed channel until it halts, then smoothly deposits it onto the bed below.

  • The primary purpose of the twin channel is to gather the TMT bars that have been sheared by the flying shear and are exiting the quenching boxes in two separate strands.

  • The twin channels are designed to guide the rods as they are discharged from the dividing shear.

  • These twin channels have the capacity to collect bars with a diameter of up to 40mm and can reach a maximum speed of approximately 25 meters per second.

  • The closed twin channels ensure that the bars remain contained and guarantee the safety of the individuals involved in the process. The opening and closing of the channels are controlled by a cam-shaft and follower rollers.

  • The twin channels are composed of flaps that open alternatively using a hydraulic cylinder and CAM system.

  • Once the full bar has been obtained, it enters the closed flap which then opens, allowing the bar to freely fall onto the straightening pockets of the rake type cooling bed. The cooling bed moves on fixed and moving rakes towards the mill run out table.

This system is highly efficient as it supports the bar through a closed channel, reducing the risk of accidents. It is particularly essential for high-speed rolling due to its design features. The system works seamlessly with braking pinch rolls, reducing the run-in length. The twin channel operations are automated and controlled by the discharge of rods from the dividing shear. The introduction of innovative cast iron center boxes has significantly decreased maintenance time.
